Spring Cleaning Your Beach House

Spring Cleaning Your Beach House

beach house tips

Hey there Beach House Realty fans! Now that we are officially into Spring (plus one day), we thought we’d take the time to offer you some seasonal “check-up” tips as you get ready to dust off your beach house from the cold weather of winter.

Since we have also “Sprung ahead” into Daylight Savings time, now is the perfect time to take stock of your carbon monoxide and smoke detectors to make sure they’re in good working order. Because they are your first defense against fire and other emergencies, you certainly wanted them at optimal functionality.

Next, make sure your bathtub, sink and toilet caulking are still looking good. A glance and a few minutes are all you need to take care of this task.

While the next tip seems a bit unorthodox, it can help you save on your energy bills. That’s right – be sure to vacuum the coils of your refrigerator. This will help it to run more effectively and efficiently because it is one of the hardest working machines in your beach home when you’re there.

Lastly, if your beach house has been dormant for a few weeks or months, it’s probably a good idea to have it inspected for any pests. Pests, just like humans, seek shelter out of the cold and elements of winter and could take up shelter in your home. Hire a professional to make sure your home experiences no damage.

Taking a little bit of time now should ensure more peace of mind and greater pleasure in enjoying your family and the summer sun the deeper into Spring and closer to summer we get.

The beach will be calling your name.
